Sat 28 Aug - ADULT Drop InWe had 23 people attend Epping drop in - 12 guys and 11 girls. A good night lots of talking which drowned out old records playing in background! I even had a member arrive who I had not met before who lives in my street. Thanks to all who came out on the last Saturday of winter, looking forward to warmer weather! Pam Fri 27 Aug - ADULT Comedy Night at the Hornsby Inn9 men and 10 women attended the Comedy Night. One of the acts was a comedian, illusionist and magician (all in one) came on. Kevin was his first target and he relieved him of $20 very quickly. Then he decided because I had a striped top on I had just been released from Silverwater. When asked what crime I had committed I said embezzlement, couldn't think of anything better to be goaled for. He asked me to come up onto the stage, he tied two red scarves together and asked me to put them down the front of my top. He performed a card trick, throwing cards in the air and stabbing the 4 of hearts which was the card I had picked. After a lot of fooling around and being asked what I was doing Saturday night he relieved me of the scarves by pulling them out with the addition of a black bra I didn't even know I was wearing. Then a 26 year old woman celebrating her birthday got up on stage. She was relieved of one of her rings. At the end he asked her to open two boxes, the first one had Kevin's $20 and in the second one her ring was found. He was very good as well as being exceptionally funny. Everyone laughed and laughed and told me what a good night they had had. Chris Sun 22 Aug - ADULT/FAMILY Kids Karaoke Disco / Kid's Mad Science Show @ The Mean FiddlerThere was a really good turn out on Sunday. There were 11 adults and 13 kids one being a potential member. We started off with lunch then the kids went and won prizes with the karaoke and various activities. By the time the science show started they all had their faces painted. It was a great day out for the whole family and we should do this again. Belinda Sat 21 Aug - ADULT Winter Drop In We had 6 men and 5 women attend the winter dropin. We all enjoyed good conversation, nibbles and drinks. Wal the fire chief was in charge of the fire which was fantastically warm whilst the conversations continued outside. We all had a really lovely time. Thanks to all who came. Dawn Fri 20 Aug-22 Aug - ADULT/FAMILY Snow Trip - Smiggins HolesThe SWC trip to the snow was a tremendous success for the 15 who attended. 7 adults, five boys and three girls converged on Smiggins for a superb weekend of skiing. Kids and adults alike braved the chilly conditions on Saturday as new snow fell all over the ski fields. Then Sunday morning revealed a scene of perfect skiing conditions: a fresh cover of snow over an already solid base under a beautiful cloudless day. I told my kids to remember this day as it doesn't get much better. Families joined together to explore the mountains while the kids joined up in ski school. All in all a great weekend of skiing and making new friends while catching up with familiar faces. Thanks to everyone who came along. Geoff Fri 20 Aug - ADULT Retro Night - 80's Theme NightIt was a small group of just the five of us (two guys and three girls). We danced all night long to the hits of the 80's by a great band called 'Back to the eighties', they brought back a lot of memories of this wonderful era. We all had a fun night! Sharlene Sun 15 Aug - ADULT/FAMILY Manly Dam Park Circuit Bush Walk and PicnicThe Manly Dam walk went well. There were 4 adults and 5 children. An unexpected storm passed very quickly (fortunately) and we were able to have our picnic lunch. The children all enjoyed the walk and played in the equipment at the park upon our return. Linda Sat 14 Aug - ADULT "Abba Lives" @ Chatswood RSL Club15 adults had a great time listening and dancing to live music. Some came early and enjoyed dinner and good conversation before the show. With the smaller auditorium, it was almost like having front row seats to one of the best Abba revival groups around. Look out for more live music and dancing in the coming months. Larry Fri 13 Aug - ADULT Ladies Lingerie PartyIt was a great all night round with the girls, wine and cheese. The clothing was lovely and had 10 ladies join. Congrats Louise for winning the prize! Cheers Liz Sun 08 Aug - ADULT/FAMILY Picnic at Wentworth CommonWhat a fabulous day of sun and fun! We secured a perfect spot in the shade where 13 adults and 16 kids enjoyed a picnic overlooking the large playground. The kids had a brilliant time playing in the sand, climbing on the equipment and taking turns on the flying fox and the slide. Some played ball games and some rode their bikes or scooters up the Bay Marker (an elevated landform with a spiralling pathway) to see the grand view over the wetlands, Homebush Bay and Haslams Creek. We all had a marvellous time! This would be a great activity to repeat in the near future. Louise Sat 07 Aug - ADULT/FAMILY Saturday Night Dinner and Play at Play Planet7 adults and 9 children attended this function and we all had a good evening - the children had a great time in the play area and enjoyed pasta/chicken nuggets - the adults enjoyed relaxing over dinner. Another fun night at Play Planet! Linda Fri 06 Aug-08 Aug - ADULT Murder Mystery in Bundanoon28 girls and guys spent the weekend in Bundanoon staying at the YHA where they experienced bushwalking, shopping and sightseeing in the southern highlands.
The highlight of the weekend was a dinner party held on Saturday night at the infamous Juice Joint – run by Rosie Marie and her daughter Anna Marie – at which there were a number of famous and infamous guests in attendance.
Unfortunately, between the main meal and dessert being served, there was a power failure causing the lights to go out… After power and the lights were restored, Notorious Nick Nemetz was found lying on the floor - dead from a gunshot wound.
The remaining people at the Juice Joint with the assistance of PI Pinkerton and Chief Cameron proceeded to investigate the murder intent on identifying the murderer. Everyone was a suspect in this terrible murder!

Deb and Pierre Fri 30 Jul - ADULT Enormous Horns at the Ettamogah PubWell, I think my first time at hosting went pretty well with lots of good conversation, laughter and of course dancing to a very good band. The Enormous Horns are very vibrant and know how to get people up dancing to some great 80's & 90's music.

Louise Sun 25 Jul - ADULT/FAMILY Sunday Lunch at Seaspray Brasserie - Tuggerah Lakes Golf Club *Central Coast*Sunday Lunch at Seaspray Brasserie Shelly Beach was once again great value and well presented at just $9.50, desert included. We had 6 adults and 3 children with 2 possible new members attend this relaxed and friendly venue. The common interests in our group made the conversation pretty lively as we all got to know each other and talked about future events for the Central Coast and Newcastle. This is proving to be a popular venue with members from this area so we plan to do it again in the future. Meanwhile other events are coming up so we hope you can join us and add to the fun. Gary Sun 18 Jul - ADULT/FAMILY Bronte to Coogee Coastal WalkOur coastal walk went well and the weather was perfect for an afternoon by the sea! 8 adults and 2 children walked from Bronte to Coogee. In total 81 attendees (not including members of the band) - 39 guys and 42 girls plus those latecomers who arrived up the driveway after the front door shut! I hope everyone enjoyed themselves, I did! The neighbours didn't even complain! A big thankyou to all of you who attended and also to you Louise and the guys in the band and of course, our music man Peter... a fun night for all. Pam Fri 09 Jul - ADULT Friday Night $5 Steak NightFriday night saw ten guys and 5 girls front up to the Sawdust Hotel at Gladesville. Although the famous $5 steaks are now more, at $7.50 it still must be reckoned great value. While numbers were down from the last outing to this venue, we had a convivial group with members arriving from far and wide. One to be enjoyed on a budget -- will no doubt be repeated.
